The Initial Idea and Plotting

A few months ago I had the idea of making a short about a costumed charity fundraiser. This idea came to me thanks to my summer job; dressing up as a tiger and shaking a charity bucket for money. For a short while I simply mulled things over and various ideas naturally popped into my head. From all this grew the following skeleton.

Arrogant boy is involved in an incident that requires him to dress up for the day as a charity fundraiser in order to resolve said incident. He has a long suffering level headed friend who wonders why he and the arrogant protagonist are even mates. During his time on the street he meets a friendly hobo type character who is bizarrely at one with the world. She helps him one way or another. The film ends with the hobo performing another unexpected act of kindness and the protagonist being left dumbfounded at her selflessness. Yes I know that sounds quite wooly but it'll all come together. Here are my various plot ideas drawn on a diagonal timeline with the character's inner journey on one side of the line and his external, plot driving journey on the other.
